PS5 users can now view all of a game’s hidden trophies with a single button press as part of the console’s latest firmware update.
In addition to introducing 1440p support and a host of new social tools, the new PS5 update includes some hidden quality of life features. While Sony has been largely silent about the changes, YouTuber Mystic has ticked them all off and spotted a subtle new feature in the console’s trophy list.
A new toggle lets you reveal all hidden trophies in a game, making it easier than ever for trophy hunters to track down missing achievements. Prior to this update, PS5 users had to reveal each hidden trophy individually, which could be time consuming for the most achievement-intensive titles.
How to see hidden trophies on PS5
To reveal a game’s hidden trophies, go to the ‘Trophies’ menu and find the game you are looking for. Tap the options button on your DualSense wireless controller to open a drop-down menu and toggle the ‘Reveal All’ option.
Be cautious, however. While some hidden trophies pertain to skill challenges or easter eggs, many are used to hide big stories. If you’re playing a game with a lot of plot and you want to avoid all the spoilers, it might be best to keep your hidden trophies covered.
Many other minor updates were also introduced in the new firmware patch. As Mystic delves deeper into your video, the console’s screen reading capabilities have been improved, your web browser now supports zoom controls, and it’s easier to view another user’s profile after accepting their friend request or sending a friend message.
More temptingly, the PSVR 2 – Sony’s next next-gen VR headset – is now mentioned by name in the PS5’s Bluetooth settings. It’s just a passing name check, but it does suggest that the headset is still expected to launch next year during its official release window.
While all of these changes are minor, we appreciate that Sony isn’t removing more features from the PS5.
