Hughes Satellite Broadband Service Launch – Could Help New Feature on iPhone 14 Work in India

Satellite internet provider Hughes Communications India, which has a partnership with Bharti Airtel, has announced the commercial launch of India’s first high-throughput satellite broadband (HTS) service — a technology service that can help Apple to introduce satellite connectivity on iPhone 14 models destined for India as well. Apple has restricted the availability of the satellite connectivity feature on the iPhone 14 to the US and Canadian markets. Apple’s satellite connectivity will use the Globalstar network in both countries. In India, it will have to partner with satellite internet providers like Hughes.

Hughes Communications India will use the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Geosynchronous Satellite (GSAT)-11 and GSAT-29 satellites to provide satellite connectivity service.
