This is a hands-on review to give you a chance to see what Shark Stratos Cordless is as soon as possible. Stay tuned as we will be expanding and updating this hands-on review very soon with more information.
We are on day two of our time at IFA 2022 (opens in new tab)and we look forward to the release of a few more entries for the best robot vacuum cleaners (opens in new tab)best cordless vacuum cleaners (opens in new tab) and categories of upright vacuum cleaners. We keep our eyes open for any news and one, in particular, that caught my attention is the Shark Stratos.
We joined SharkNinja for breakfast this morning (Thursday, September 1) and not only did our hairstyle with the new Shark FlexStyle, but we also had the opportunity to try out the new vacuum cleaner that was in between the range. of the brand’s already popular vacuum cleaners. cleaners.
Stratos is the name of Shark’s new range. There are corded upright wands and cordless wands with some of the best features we know and love, like Anti Hair Wrap, Duo Clean, and Flexology, plus some new additions that promise to catch more debris and control bad odors.
is currently activated pre-order direct from Shark UK (opens in new tab) and will be released for sale on Shark’s website and with resellers in the coming weeks.
We were really impressed with the new Clean Sense IQ technology, which according to Shark picks up 50% more dirt off the floor by feeling the dust you can’t see and automatically adjusts the suction power.
This is beautifully illustrated by a smart indicator on the floorhead. We had some dry cereal spread out on the floor to demonstrate the effectiveness of this feature, and we could hear the gears shifting as it took a little more effort to remove the cereal from the floor surfaces than surface dust.
We’ve been told this new feature will also help preserve battery life, as you’ll be using a suction power level best suited for your floor type, which you probably won’t be on the Max.
Another new addition to the Shark vacuum is the innovative Anti-Odor Technology that protects against bad odours. If you’ve ever noticed a smell coming from your vacuum after not emptying it for a while, or if you have pets, you’ll really notice the difference when using a Stratos vacuum. While we couldn’t give this feature a quick test, we did see it and it’s a small plug-in filter that resides in the floorhead. Very cool.
To play with the idea that these new vacuums are good for pet owners, Shark has improved the wrap anti-hair floor. It looks the same but is supposed to deliver even better hair collection due to better grip. We could see any hair, dust or cereal left on the floor after a quick vacuum around the event booth, nor could we see any debris curled up around the floor. The real test would be when we come to review it in our own home.
Looking at the Wireless Shark Stratos doesn’t look too different from the Shark Anti Hair Wrap Flexology IZ201UK (opens in new tab). The floorhead is compact, the stick can bend (Flexology) and there are two power settings.
One notable difference, however, is that Anti-Odor Technology is present on the floor. It doesn’t look all bad and has been carefully designed. Unfortunately, we didn’t take a picture of this, and the vacuum we quickly tested is a European version without this feature, but rest assured it doesn’t detract from the overall look.
The Flexology feature means you can fold the vacuum for easy storage, making it ideal for homes where space is at a premium. It’s a shame the vacuum cleaner doesn’t stand up on its own in other storage circumstances, though.
We were really impressed with the Shark Stratos at the IFA event. It has all the good features we know and love, and then some.
We are particularly interested in giving the CleanSense IQ feature a little more performance for your money. We like the suction to be displayed so obviously on the floor, which in turn affects the number of floor lights that are illuminated while they are on.
Anti-Odor Technology and Anti Hair Wrap Plus are features we’re also curious to learn more about. There is only one way to do this, and that is to perform a full review.
IFA 2022 (opens in new tab) is Europe’s biggest technology fair, and is in Berlin to bring you all the breaking news and announcements, as well as our hands-on first impressions of the new TVs, wearables, audio devices and other gadgets on display.
