Even before the first major Windows 11 update, which is (imaginarily) titled Windows 11 2022 Update, arrives, Microsoft is already preparing some minor updates to finally bring guides to File Explorer and other highly sought-after features by the end of the year.
According to latest windows (opens in new tab)these updates are called ‘Moments’, which will bring features that have been in testing for most of 2022. As the Windows 11 2022 Update is scheduled to be released in late September, ‘Moment 1’ is supposed to arrive just a few weeks later. , with the File Explorer tabs being the main improvement that comes with it.
While you may already experience some of these features on your PC if you are a Windows Insider Member (opens in new tab)that lets you try other updates that Microsoft is working on, users want to see some improvements in Windows 11 since it debuted in October 2021.
Magic moments are coming
It’s strange that Microsoft announced new features for Windows 11 in April, with no indication of when they would arrive, and there’s been no official announcement yet. Compare that to Apple, where we already know what’s coming for the Mac with macOS Ventura, like Stage Manager and a redesigned Settings app.
However, Windows users still don’t know when these features will arrive. It’s great to see these ‘Moment’ updates arrive so soon after the Windows 11 2022 update, but the casual user these days has no idea that’s the plan.
Hopefully Microsoft is aware of this, and there’s an event or announcement coming soon that will reveal exactly what the Windows 11 roadmap will entail, like Moment 1 and 2, and how it will benefit everyone.
