D23 Expo 2022 is just around the corner, and fans of all Disney properties are gearing up for a ton of new announcements about their favorite franchises.
The latest annual celebration of all things Disney is sure to be an electrifying event too. You’ll want to know, then, when the D23 Expo 2022 will start, what time some panels will start, and how you can live stream the event. Well, we’re here to help.
Below, we’ve compiled a list of everything you need to know about the 2022 edition of Disney’s biggest fan event, including where you can stay up to date on specific panels if you’re not there. We’ll see why some dashboards won’t show live later.
So put on your favorite Marvel superhero, Star Wars character or Pixar cosplay and let’s dive in.
When does the D23 Expo 2022 start?
D23 Expo 2022 will start in Friday, September 9 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST / 10:30pm IST / 3am AEST (Saturday, September 10th).
That’s when the first panel of the convention will start, anyway. Doors to the D23 Expo 2022 open at 9am ET for attendees, so those lucky ones have an hour to walk around the hall before heading to the first panel of the weekend. The event will conclude on Sunday, September 11th, with the event closing at 7pm PT on that date.
The fan event is being held in Anaheim, California, but tickets have long since sold out, so those hoping to take a last-minute trip to the US state should avoid booking their flights and accommodations. However, there is a way for non-participants to get any of the weekend’s action.
Where can I watch the D23 Expo 2022 panels?
Those unable to attend D23 Expo 2022 will be pleased to know that they can watch certain panels online. Fans can tune in to the official D23 YouTube channel (opens in new tab) or D23.com (opens in new tab) to broadcast some performances live, while the D23 Facebook (opens in new tab) and twitter (opens in new tab) accounts will provide regular updates over the weekend.
Wait, why do we keep saying you can only stream certain panels? Unfortunately, the biggest performances of the weekend will be exclusive to the participants. that means you will not be able to stream live panels for live action projects from Marvel Studios, Pixar, Disney Animation or Disney Studios. That’s a shame, but from Disney’s point of view, it makes sense that their biggest panels would be exclusive to the event.
Which panels can I live stream at D23 Expo 2022?

What to expect from the biggest panels at the D23 Expo
While we may not be able to watch them live, we will still receive a lot of information – through social media and other channels – about the biggest panels at D23 Expo 2022.
Let’s start with the Marvel Studios Hall H panel. While not live streamed, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans can expect a slew of content and announcements from this 90-minute presentation.
On the one hand, we’re sure to hear more details about the latest Phase 4 MCU projects. This should include a new trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as well as the official Disney Plus release dates for the TV specials Werewolf by Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. The latter duo has yet to receive release dates, so expect Marvel to confirm when they will arrive on their streaming service.
In the meantime, we can expect some great news about some Marvel Phase 5 and Phase 6 productions. MCU insiders suggest we’ll have trailers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Secret Invasion, which will be the first MCU projects to release in 2023. It’s possible that Marvel will reveal the official release dates for Secret Invasion, What If…? season 2, Echo and Loki season 2 during the panel as well.
We may also get official casting news for Blade, Captain America: New World Order and The Thunderbolts – the last of that trio being particularly intriguing given the rumors of who will be part of this anti-hero group’s lineup in recent days.
Speaking of casting announcements, the biggest reveal of the weekend could be reserved for Marvel’s Fantastic Four movie reboot, which will be the first superhero movie to release the studio’s Phase 6 plans. There was a lot of speculation about who will be cast as the iconic foursome last week, so we’d be surprised if Marvel didn’t confirm which actors will play Mr. D23 Expo 2022.
Finally, Marvel could reveal some other Phase 6 projects. The studio has only announced three movies so far, so we can learn about a few other productions that will make it onto their Phase 6 slate. other movies and TV shows for Marvel to talk about at the D23 Expo, so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if any new Phase 6 projects were revealed.
Elsewhere, we can expect more details about Strange World, the upcoming animated movie from Disney Animation Studios. At Pixar, we’re sure to discover official plot and casting details, as well as a trailer for Elemental, Pixar’s 27th movie.
As for Star Wars, it’s likely that Lucasfilm will give us some news about their upcoming list. Star Wars Celebration 2022 only took place at the end of May, so we’re unlikely to see many announcements. However, we should get more information about upcoming Star Wars movies and TV shows like Andor, which launches on Disney Plus on September 21. , and The Acolyte.
If Lucasfilm really wants to make an impact, however, it would make tongues move if they showed us footage from Season 3 of The Mandalorian and Ahsoka’s live-action solo series. Otherwise, the official release dates wouldn’t be wrong for the pair.
Away from movie and TV based content, the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase should provide plenty of new stuff for players to get excited about. From Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Midnight Suns, to Marvel’s Wolverine and Lucasfilm/Machine Games’ Indiana Jones, there’s a lot to be excited about in the gaming sphere when it comes to Disney-owned properties.
